Plenty more critique of capitalism in this response to critics, already posted a few times:
So GM's point about how talking about population means you 'don’t have the guts to face the structural, systemic causes of our predicament: inequality, oligarchic power, capitalism' is clearly bogus. Another specific stressing of the consumption multiplier from Gibbs around 11:00: 'We're just raising the question [about population]. We've got to come to terms with this expansion. We don't have the answers in the film, but it is our growth, and especially our growth in consumption driven by capitalism that's driving this beast.' I also liked Ozzie Zehner's opening comment about how 'just this brief virus period in one week has done more than the environmental movement has done in thirty years to reduce consumption'. Touché!
