Zoe Williams is right on one point - this mess has been decades in the making. Elite groupthink has led to decision after decision which have harmed our infrastructure, energy security, water resources, food security, money value etc. The same people who brought you this nightmare are now backing measures which are guaranteed to produce food shortages. And the Guardian is running point for these interests. You have only to look at the response to the pandemic - anyone who questioned the official line was denounced seven ways from Sunday as a granny killer and silenced by any means possible. Williams never mentions the response to the pandemic as a having a role in the current mess but of course it has. |
