oxymoron /ˌɒksɪˈmɔːrɒn/ noun a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction. eg: "British Intelligence" I suppose there are differing possibilities. 1. Just a blatant propaganda outfit releasing what they know is bollox for public consumption. 2. So badly informed ("Many of our old sources have chosen to leave Russia...") they have honestly have no idea therefore revert to 1. 3. Stuffed full of seriously thick jingoistic idiots in the Prince Andrew ("we" are "...back in the thick of playing the Great Game..." against Russia and'...this time we aim to win...") / Michael Fallon ("The UK will be ready to go to war with Russia in two years") mould who are still quite unaware that the British Empire only exists in the history books... 4. A combination of all three above.
