No probs,
T said: '12th Sept date as a cut-off, was it?' - haven't quite figured out Wayback yet. There seem to be two different kinds of saved page, one that's just the index with dead links, and one you can click through to see the content threads & individual posts. At the risk of going down another tech rabbit-hole... if you go to the main archive for the MLMB:
and click on the 2015 section of the bar graph, it shows 4 'snapshots' for September, 2 blue and 2 green. I think the blue ones are the static pages and the green ones allow you to click through or go back to previous index pages. For whatever reason I was unable to bring up a page with posts from Sept 15th. So no 'smoking gun' as it were, but there you have it... Whether it brings you clarity or is helpful I guess is up to you. Didn't know you were in the LP - as one of the £3 brigade or prior to that?
K said: 'I thought that that stiff had blown away on the aether' - yes, me too, was a pleasant surprise to see so much of it still up. On the other hand probably not entirely healthy to have every word you ever wrote available in some archive for anybody to dredge up when they feel like it, in good faith or bad. The curse of the internet... can't let sleeping dogs lie any more. It was actually quite novel for me to figure out why I believed what you said in the absence of written proof. All these things like trust, relationship, understanding of character, history of behaviour etc. that atrophy when no longer used because you can get any answer you want at a stroke of the keyboard. However did people cope before search engines?!?
Point taken re: dictating the form of an answer. I went looking to satisfy my own curiosity too, at least.
