We are talking about trying to prevent escalation and possible nuclear annihilation and the purists of the 'traditional left', as always, would rather disappear into their sectarian silos.
OK you don't like the politics of some of the speakers. But, why not engage with some of the attendees? You may find you have more in common than you think.
At least you can agree on the importance of free speech, surely.
And, the 'right' like the left is not one thing. They may overlap in some ways, but the libertarian right is not the same as the 'fascist' right.
The thing is people agree on some things and disagree on others. So what? These things should be up for negotiation.
The world is messy. We all have prejudices of one kind or another. Some may be justified, some not.
We have to work from where we are. We should not be expected - or expect ourselves - to pass some kind of 'purity test'.
Having said that, if we can't unite against the very real threat of nuclear annihilation, what will we unite against.
Even if we get through the Ukraine crisis, what of the next one? Neocon orchestrated China/Taiwan?
Meanwhile this divisiveness - partly due to the US inability to accept a multipolar world - means the world is not coming together to tackle the other great threat to human existence - the fall-out from climate change.
