They (the organisers) seem to have pulled a bit of a hokey-cokey with Scott Ritter; first he was pulled, various speakers threatened to withdraw if he wasn't allowed on so they put him back on the bill but then pulled him off again (fnaar). I had assumed it was some short notice thing so the others couldn't withdraw in solidarity but Scott Ritter had already released his video of the speech he would have made and had time to arrange to speak at Maupin's meeting that took place at the same time. That might explain the stunt with the flags. I still generally agree with the idea of anti-war across the specturm but this group doesn't fill me with confidence. There are a lot of plain bad faith actors involved (HInkel for one is such an obvious clout chasing grifter). The idea of any means to get the message out again is all well and good but I think the bulk of the group are only anti-war as far as it's a stick to beat the Democrats with going into the next general. Their existing audience has already been messaged extensively on "no more funds to Ukraine" (and if you notice, at least up until now, it has tended to be that framing "no more money/funds" not "no more war" at least as far as the Fox/Libertarian/Trumpertube goes) so they aren't really going to be hearing a new message. Which leaves the more "left" audience a lot of whom are clearly not happy with who the organisers and a lot of the speakers are so they are less likely to take on the message. I guess we have to wait and see how it develops. If it turns into a big movement and they start getting people who were cheering the war on to change their tune, for whatever reason, that has to be a good thing. I suspect it's more of an early electoral campaign move (from the organisers at least). Some of the coverage has been horrendous to be sure (Maddow's one minute of smears was particularly dreadful) but again, as far as I have seen, the more right-leaning channels have been featuring Ron Paul and Tulsi Gabbard and repeating the same "no more funding" message the right have been primed with for some time now and not really stresing the anti-war or the left and right unity ideas. They are planning more of these though, right? I think how it proceeds will show more of what it really is.
