    I reckon that's dubious stuff: a fantasy origin conjured up to give some kind of ideological pedigree.
    -Irvine Kristol was supposedly a "Young Trotsyist" for a year or so and maybe somebody else's sister once danced with a communist...

    Maybe.

    A brief look at 'DuckDuckGo' shows that the origins of neoconservatism are contested. Sakwa in Frontier Ukraine seems to accept to accept the Trotskyite origins - not that that proves anything.

    Nevertheless, the neocons push the US-based unipolar objective - as per the Wolfowitz Doctrine.

    This may be cast in Manichaean terms (as in the Crooke article) as a war of good against evil, with good eventually triumphing (US manifest destiny providing light for a sinful world).

    Ever since we were metaphorically cast out of the Garden of Eden and into self-awareness and awareness of change and death humans have yearned for a return, to transcend time and to end history.

    But, time is foundational and change cannot be avoided.

    To believe otherwise is a dangerous and pernicious fantasy.
