The majority don't vote. We've had this debate before (many times!). At the 2015 election 62.2% didn't vote for the two main parties. This is what I wrote about the 2015 election, running up to the 2017 election: “The corporate media conveniently/desperately pretends that everyone votes. “The Tories took office with 36.9% of the vote.” A growing number of people are not taking part in its voting con-trick. At the last election, 25% of the electorate voted for the conservatives, 21% labour. 33.9% didn't vote/take part in the charade. If you take into consideration those who didn't register to vote (17.7% 2011 figures), that shows (approx.) 20.8% conservative, 17% labour. So, from those people over 18, about 21% voted for the Tories. What the ruling class fears most is the growing number of people not taking part in its voting con-trick. So over the next few weeks capitalism and its corporate media will desperately be trying to get as many people as possible to vote for its system.” “Clearly, very large numbers of people refuse to take part in the tweedle dee/tweedle dum game. What will happen over the next few weeks is that the corporate media will desperately be trying to get as many people as possible to vote. The ruling class doesn't care who you vote for – but it must get large numbers of people involved in its voting charade.” So in 2015 33.9% plus 17.7% = 51.6% didn't vote. The majority. I've given the figures for the 2017 and 2019 elections, can't find them at the moment.
