When I was mulling over the recent contretemps in New Zealand, I was trying to think of a previous situation whereby a young, fit man repeatedly punched an elderly woman and was treated, by some, not a a reprehensible bully but as some kind of hero. And really, I could not. I've lived through some pretty turbulent times and yet in none of them would this sort of behaviour win any accolades.
To me, like millions of others, the deep misogyny which underpins much of the modern trans movement is glaringly obvious and was embodied by the punching anti-hero of NZ. An ordinary bloke behaving this way would undoubtedly be described as demonstrating 'toxic masculinity' and yet this label never seems to be applied to violent trans activists.
