Well... tentatively, I think the main lesson the left should learn from the Corbyn fiasco, is that one should massively shift power in the Party towards the memembership... structurally. Only they chose not to back the manditory reselection of MPs by the constituencies. Then there's the problem of the Unions, really the 'Union Barons' who have way too much power, and like it that way. Corbynism was the last, nostaligic, gasp of social democracy inside Labour. I doubt one will see the like again, perhaps for decades. That's why when the young activists are optimisti and energised, it's a trajedy, almost a political crime, not to ride the wave that lifted Corbyn into the leadership, and exploit it to radical lurch the party towards democracy and change. One has to be willing to use the little power one has, when one has it, or it spills like sand between ones fingers. But, intellectually and theoretically the Corbyn team didn't understand this. That Corbyn and his team, seemingly, didn't recognise that they had to 'deatroy' the old Labour Party in order to build a better one, is awful. Lessons should have been learned, but I fear they haven't been, they cannot be learned, because the left fundamentally don't see the Labour Party for what it really is.
