That's not because the poverty the article describes has been immediately apparent all this time, but because I've railed against the stupidity and unworkability and unsustainability of neoliberalism (and of corporatisation and globalism) from the very start, confidently predicting its demise since the early 2000s. It's taken longer than I thought it would, 2008 seemed to confirm my ideas, but then I didn't think the central banks and governments around the world would commit economic and social and planetary suicide in the way they did to preserve the failing status quo and dig us all an ever deeper environmental, economic and fiscal grave to bury ourselves in.
