Hmm. He's (MT) being unbelievably disingenuous when he's asked about the Adelson donation and its possible effects and he says (paraphrased) "This time round donations didn't matter as much so maybe they won't be so beholden to donors, whether its Adelson or Musk". He knows that's horse shit and he's deliberately not giving the real answer as it casts shade on Trump.
I liked him on the media part of it but he danced around the "Will there be more revenge?" question too.
And then his (Trump's) "..power base has nothing to do with corporate money" comment when he's been backed with at least tens of millions, and reportedly 100s of millions, of dollars from Schwartzman and the rest is another example of being economical with the truth. Maybe the old insitutions weren't shovelling loot to him but the new ones sure as shit were.
He repeats that here with the Due Dissidence channel:
150 mill from Tim Melon 100 mill from Adelson 118 mill from Space Karen 50 mill from the Perlmutters (apartheid state, "Right for America") 8.5 mill British American Tobacco 7 mill Andreessen Horowitz (private equity mob) 6 mill Cantor Fitzgerald
The smaller (if single-figure millions qualifies as small) donors probably write it off as an expense they throw at both sides, but does Matt really think the top people are throwing a hundred million at him and are not going to want something in return? Nigger please.
Not like the old Taibbi to do things like that and a little disappointing. When he's actually asked if he's going to be appointed press secretary it shows where he's positioned these days. The corporate media are complicit in the Gaza genocide. Never forget what they did. Never forgive them for it.

Did he not say that he is not interested .. at all!?
Overall I am probably more charitable than you, although I agree that he downplayed Trumps donors a lot. It seems that his emphasis was more on Trumps voter base being more significant.
MT has covered a number of elections in the past, so I expect he'll be coming up with an article or two which may be more coherent than this interview. Let's wait and see.
He did say that. I meant the fact it was even suggested shows where he is.
I still rate him and all of his books (and his previous election coverage) are superb, but those couple of places where he slipped the question somewhat disappointed me. He's right about the media though. The corporate media are complicit in the Gaza genocide. Never forget what they did. Never forgive them for it.
