That's the simple answer I disagree with, in essence. Sorry mate. It's the Wild West neocon capitalism that just may be in the works that is the culprit. Finger in the wind .. I reckon. The Lobby is a miniscule portion, despite the seal clapping in Congress not so long ago. No doubt a minority opinion.

There's no real difference. The Israelis hold the middle East policy franchise for neocon capitalism.

The US political system is played by them like a guaranteed payout penny-fountain multiplier: millions in sponsorship for personal political campaigns = absurdly preferential treatment for the war colony franchise and of course the billions of free armaments every year without which Israel could not survive.

Thanks, what you say, sounds plausible, if I may say so. That franchise you mention, is definitely in play from my readings. All I am trying to emphasise is that, in fact, it is bogus. The Empire perception. It will not last, It can't.

Well it's not really a "one or the other" issue.

All the money and effort that goes into US political placements through AIPAC, billionaire dual passport holders and the Israeli lobby et al produces serious results: there's really no doubt about that.

Yet US standing in the world is taking a serious hit precisely because Israel is in the middle east policy driving seat...and the US of course are seen to back that policy.

It's hard to see for how much longer though. How much world opprobrium can the US take without its reputation being thoroughly destroyed ? The present state of affairs is guaranteed to make even the most compliant government think twice about the suitability of the US to fulfil its ambition to be world unipolar superpower.

-It's damaging US status and thus also US interests but it's difficult to call a stop to it when so much Israeli money is tied directly to the electoral campaigns of so many representives.

Go read the above again. If you want to actualy properly debate any points I make, feel free.

When you instead make silly assertions like "No, Aipac etc work for American Caesar..." You can't expect to be taken seriously.

The Israel lobby promote US support and military aid for Israels policies: presently its genocides and ethnic cleansing in Palestine and Lebanon and there is little doubt this is actively working against US interests in the the middle East and the gulf.

It does so by undermining the (already thin) popular support for all the US supported and supporting gulf monarchies...it reinforces popular antipathy to Israel-supporting ruling elites in major states such as Erdogans in Turkey, it debases trust & US bone fides in other major oil producing nations such as Iran where the US hopes to see prospective regime change: and where, as Morandi points out above, as a result of the Israeli genocide in Gaza with US support, there has been a sea change in perceived US status from positive to pariah amongst young Iranians.

in short AIPAC and the Israeli lobby are not working for US interests at all in the middle east: they are in fact doing the opposite and the openly Adelson-bought Trump looks likely to be about to double up on the damage.

If the rest of us are lucky ( unlike Israel's victims) the world might get out of this by a few claimed territorial grabs supported by US might which will at some point be reversed. The alternative: favoured by meglomaniac crooks and supported by the eschatologicaly touched religious loonies who have positions of power in both Israel & the US, is war against Iran.

And that will not be in anyone's interest at all.

Ummm...a lobby group by its very nature doesn't work for the people it wants to influence. American Caesar working to infuence American Caesar is an oxymoron on a par with lending yourself money.

As a parallel to AIPAC who does Israeli Miriam Adelson work for? American Caesar?

She gave $35 million to the last Trump campaign and got Jerusalem as Israeli capital and the Iranian nuclear deal dumped for the money: cheap at the price. "He promised...he delivered" she said.

This time with a hundred of so million to win the presidency she reportedly wants Trump to give Israel the West Bank.

As I said, Israel holds the US middle east policy franchise and it's organisations in the US maintain pressure for its support. It can be booted into touch by Washington but only with the greatest difficulty as its financial tentacles extend to an extensive number of US politicians.

In terms of mileage you have to have a reasonable set of miles as a base. If you run out of this indispensable metric, and your sample gets smaller it, thus, looses relevance.
