James has the answer, it is best done on the beach, pull off a couple of hundred metres and then wind up flicking the line into the water as you wind and this will help to keep resistance and remove live twist.
Failing that check your line as the olderthe line the stiffer it gets and longer the memory.
Good excuse to fish more as well to keep it supple.
Also when renewing line make sure the line is coming off the spool the right way and not reverse wrapping.
When a new spool of line is put on the reel then take it out on the beach and cast 20-30 metres and retreive, then cast a little futher and finally a long cast and retreive.
This helps to set the line and reduce wrap.
Lastly make sure the spool is not slipping when retrieving and adjust drag as necessary.
    Hope this help.
    Cheers ray
