Very nice post JM. Yum. At random: ... does not fill one with confidence that the urgency of climate change and the dramatic and revolutionary changes that we need to undertake Sounds good Going back, I remember you as a Sinophobe. Now, with Belt and Road Initiative how does it look to you, this economic empowerment of the Third World and the non-aligned nations via Russia and China? Industrialisation bereft of Western capital is the same result in terms of the climate change methinks, n'est-ce pas. It seems like a problem. I think that block is likely to be better for climate change. I sincerely think that block is likely to be able to deal with the problem, despite adding to it. Not Net Zero. We wait. The other thing that is interesting is that I spend my time on the green fixes, decarbonisation, 9 to 5, 5 days a week. From my perspective, it looks like a real thing. A power station, for example, produces a lot of CO2. To decarbonise, one needs to get rid of exhausts from the gas turbines. The answer is relatively simple. Catch the CO2 and pump it in the exhausted North Sea oil wells. The UK government is providing the funds, it seems. Is it free lunch haha. Not from my perspective. The other green fix job I am working on in the USA is hydrogen production from municipal wastes. A bandzoogle?, don't think so. It can be done. Apologies for meandering : ). At least I am working : ). I'd love a complete change in the political landscape in the UK and the consequent Big Fix, but it ain't gonna happen. The prospects are definitely bleak. But you never know ...
