It is amazing how their is alway two sides to every issue, and that there is always passion on both sides. In the case of our 49'er issue, a very small group was able to push to have it eliminated, while the masses were very much in favor of keeping both the nickname and the mascot. It is also amazing how the Pevunga (sp) tribe has be able to keep LBS state from developing the property along Bellflower Blvd. for so many years. I was of the opinion that Bob Maxson had worked out an agreement with the tribe while Bob was president, but I guess that this was not the case. I would sure like to see that property developed, with some sort of a monument in the middle of the development to recognize the tribe members and their families that might have lived in the area at one time!!! To me, this would do more to recognize the tribe than the pacth of weeds that is on the property at this time!!! Just my thoughts!!!
