That is sort of half true. Kim did recommend Pineda! Pineda said that she was interested in the job but was also interested in Hawaii. She was told that she could APPLY for the Long Beach job and would be considered. Hawaii offered her their job before the interviews started for Long Beach, and Pineda accepted the job. That is my best understanding, but I could be wrong. Previous Message

Panita Thanathon was the Assistant Head Coach with Kim. I would expect Kim would have recommended her. It is my understanding that at the beginning of 2025 Kim advised she would be retiring. That happened at about the same time Jenny Hilt Costello, our former Tennis coach, advised our AD she would be leaving.
Frankly I am very happy for Panita. She is in a much better situation. She is Hawaii's gain and LBSU's loss.
