The point would be to continue the great endeavor of athletics for young people in our universities.

If you haven't seen the recent Gaelic Football championship and the announcers call of the 75 year drought ending, it's great. Gaelic football is played by each county, and while they have professional managers that organize the games throughout the year, the players are all amateur and play for the love of competition against their fellow countryman of other counties.

I don't really want us to become a bank that has athletes. Maybe that means when the SEC and Big Ten blow it up, we're in some lower organization (or still the NCAA ironically). Maybe that's okay if it keeps going this way.

In the meantime, find a shirt sponsor for whatever you can a year to help the bottom line and keep trying to win each little battle.
