We just got word yesterday that John's last culture was positive for B. Cepacia. Right now I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach. John has been coughing lately a little more than usual, but has been fine otherwise. I had a feeling something was amiss, but, of course, I never expected this.

The doctor said the DNA fingerprint indicates John did not get it from anyone at our clinic so he most likely picked it up from the environment. Should I expect to just deal with the Cepacia from now on or is there a shread of hope that we can get rid of it?
