It's most obvious on Joshua Tree, but, with the exception of Boy, which is pretty even, pretty much all of the good songs on any U2 album are in the first half. Occasionally, they'll throw you a bone in the second half ("Bad", "Mysterious Ways"), but mostly, U2 albums become fairly worthless after track 5 or so.
