Achtung Baby, I think is one of the exception where I marginally prefer the second half over the first half. I quite like Mysterious Ways, Love Is Blindness and Ultraviolet and THe Fly. The first half has the weakest track of the album with "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wilde Horses"
Rattle And Hum - The best songs are on the second half especially Heartland and All I Want Is You and Angels Of Harlem. The first half contains the most embarrassing songs such as the crappy Helter Skelter and All Along The Watchtower cover, the kind of stupid speech in Silver And Gold (it says something that Bono has to explain the message of the song in the middle of the piece instead of letting the lyrics speak for itself. The only bad moment in the 2nd half of Rattle and Hum is probably the speech in Bullet The Blue Sky but even then it was a good performance from a music perspective.
However the biggest exception is Songs Of Innocence where the first half pretty much blows (1-2 kinda decent songs but the rest sucked) and the last 3 songs are easily the three best songs of the album.
