Great reviews! I'm surprised that most of the comments on this board so far haven't been particularly favorable towards Skylarking - it seems to me to be a pretty obviously great album, and one that's a stunning leap for the group too. I'd give it an E but I can't quibble with the F grade. I'm still working through their back catalog, but having heard Skylarking and Psonic Psunspot first, it was pretty jarring to hear albums like White Music and Go 2 which are decent but really have nowhere near the emotional range of Skylarking and don't show any signs to me that greatness was around the corner.

I'm also pleased to see the D grade for English Settlement, which I've been listening too a lot lately - its length is a weakness on paper, but I consistently find it compelling and keep wanting to listen to it again and again.
