I always felt like ES was a double album for the LP-era and O&L was a lengthy single album for the CD era. It just seems like a bunch of songs rather than 4 specifically sequenced sides.
O&L is the next album up to be remixed by Steven Wilson, and while I've been vocal about my issues with him before I am quite curious about this one since if there's any XTC album that would use a sonic overhaul it's O&L.
Any plans to cover any of Andy's side projects and whatnot? Not that I would blame you for not wanting to review 9 discs of Fuzzy Warbles, but there's a unbeliveable number of fantastic songs on there. Partridge love to sneak gems in all corners of the band's verious reissues (for example the 25 OClock reissue came with a brand new Andy solo song and barely anybody noticed). And then there are also Andy's collaboration albums with Harold Budd, Peter Blegvad and the bands Monstrance, and Lighterthief. All of which are interesting in different ways. At the very least I recommend checking out Mike Kineally's Wing Beat Fantastic which is the closest thing we've gotten to a new XTC album since Wasp Star.
