"I'll do it." Alyson raised her hand volunteering.
"What?" Lazheros looked at her suddenly, "No, out of the question!"
"I'm quite capable of causing a distraction. For once I can actually put those skills of sneaking around to good use. I was trained by an assassin and my parents are two master thieves, so why not. Serna, this is your call."
"Go for it!" Serna replied simply, "And if something goes wrong, we've got your back."
Alyson gave her a thumbs up and darted off into the bushes before Lazheros could stop her.
The Shield Maiden turned towards The Cleric and suggested, "You know, Lazheros, you need to stop worrying and let Alyson be Alyson. You'll be a lot happier if you do."
The bronze man narrowed his eyes at the Shield Maiden, "Well, Miss Smarty Pants, let's see how you handle the entire situation then."
"And I also noticed something else about you, Lazheros," Serna added without backing down, "You get real mean when you don't get your way. And being mean does not become you. At least Irzen takes his anger out on his enemies not his friends, maybe you should do the same."
"I do not like my predicament, Serna. I am out of what Alyson would call my comfort zone. Two, why don't you ask the kurori what I'm like when I'm mean." He grumbled.
As much as the kurori was enjoying the three of them being kid like, even she was starting to feel uncomfortable around a grumpy dragon, "Uh, Serna, it's better to be nice around the Bronze Man than push him like that. I do cuz it's my nature to mess with people but maybe, just maybe you could not be so bossy. Okay?"
"You guys put me in charge, Caliaphy, being bossy comes with the job of being in charge," The Shield Maiden replied without hesitation before she turned to The Cleric, "I'm not trying to add on to your misery, Lazheros, I'm just saying do as Irzen does. Take your anger and your frustration and use it against our enemies and not on us, okay? After all, we're all in the same boat together."
Serna looked to Irzen, "Can you keep an eye on Alyson? She's going to need a guide through the tunnels once she ditches those Froggies."
"Will do." Irzen nodded as he silently crept off to follow Serna's orders.
Gimble and his fellows motioned everyone to be quiet while the elementalist crept around to the far side of the ravine and popped up out of the bushes.
"Hello! I say over there! Were you looking for me?"
The bullywugs patrolling the entrance all turned in her direction, "GET HER!"
"Nanananah! You can't catch me!" Alyson taunted them just before she bolted down a side path.
Irzen kept a careful watch at a safe distance as Alyson provided her distraction.
The distraction worked luring all the bullywugs away and giving the others a chance to go.
"Okay, everyone, let's go!" Serna waved the others forward, "Keep your eyes open for any traps or anything that can come out of the dark and get us. Caliaphy, please go invisible, take the lead and scout for us. Lazheros, you have Dragon eyes so seeing in the dark should come easy for you. Please keep an eye on our rear. Everyone else, stay between Lazheros and me."
"I can do invisible but but..." Caliaphy sighed, "I can't see in the dark like the Bronze Man or the swordsman. I can see through solid light but not darkness. Sorry."
"No problem!" Serna smiled at the Fairy, "If you can't see in the dark then you can't see in the dark. Lazheros, can you do the honors?"
Gimble and his fellows ran to the entrance, scoped it out and made sure the way was clear, "No offense, human, we know this mine better than anyone here. So, I will take lead."
"Thank you!" The Shield Maiden added, "And I will be right beside you. Lead on!"
