Caliaphy wrinkled her nose with a huff, "HEY! That's my friend there! Put her down this instant or I'll--"
"Or you'll do what, you insignificant fairy?" The Overseer sneered.
"I'll do this!" The kurori produced a triangle and began to play a little tune. The vibrations from the little instrument hit the crystal behind her amplifying the sound. Any thing that wasn't made of magic or constructed by the gnomes became brittle and shattered. The crystal itself built up so much energy from Caliaphy's instrument it forced the changeling to toss the shield maiden across the hard stone floor.
"Go long! Go for the touch down!" Alyson cheered the swordsman running to catch Serna as if she was thrown by the quarter back on a football team.
"Oh crap!" Irzen saw Serna being tossed away and raced to intercept her before she hit the ground, "I got her! I got her!" Unfortunately, the Swordsman forgot he no longer possessed the body of an adult. So when he 'caught' the Shield Maiden, it was more like he broke her fall when she landed on top of him than him actually catching her before she hit the ground.
Both Serna and Irzen groaned from the collision and did their best to get back to their feet.
"What in the Realm hit me?" Irzen asked no one in particular.
"Me, I think." Serna replied equally confused as she rose from atop the Swordsman.
The Overseer's form quivered and shivered from the intense stream of sound. In one final shriek, Venger's servant imploded into nothing. The crazed gnome fell face first on the floor with a thud and turned to stone. With the leader dead, the bullywugs dropped their weapons and surrendered.
"We surrender. We don't remember how we got here?" The head frog man said.
Another added, "Why we here and not in swamp?"
Irzen quickly got to his feet, drew his sword and pointed it back the way they had came into the cavern, "Swamp that way! Go now! No harm you, if you leave now! Go!"
The bullywugs looked at each other and left without uttering a word leaving the adventurers alone.
Lazheros stepped forward cautiously, "Well done, Caliaphy, it would seem you found your way finally."
"Aww! Shucks!" The kurori blushed.
"Nice work!" The Shield Maiden walked over to the Fairy, "You took out the Overseer and saved everyone. You should be proud!"
Gimble and the other gnomes came back down into the mine with looks of relief. "Oh thank you! Many thanks for defeating him and freeing the Crystal Elemental."
"You're welcome!" Serna replied with a smile, "Wait, free the Crystal Elemental?"
The crystal shimmered brightly reforming into a huge like humanoid figure with gnomish features. The elemental reached down and revived Nathosot with a touch.
He yawned as if he had been asleep and got to his feet, "Oh hello my friend! My fellow gnomes and I thank you Adventurers for all of your help. You see, this crystal elemental was a gift from Flandal Steelskin. A truly rare and wondrous creature but we accepted it as our guardian. Perhaps, one day we shall repay the favor."
The Bronze Man simply bowed to the gnomes, "It seems that Flandal Steelskin is a favored deity of both the gnomes of Gravelwood and here in Gnome Gnome town."
"Who in the Realm is Flandal Steelskin?" Serna asked no one in particular.
"Gnomish god of mining and smithing." Irzen replied with a knowing grin, "Even my kin have heard of him, though we don't worship him."
"Oh!" The Shield Maiden smiled, "Well, I'm glad we could help. And now that our mission is done and before Puck comes back and turn all of you back to adults. There are a few things I want to say and do."
Serna skipped over to Alyson and gave her a hug, "I always wondered what you were like as a kid and now I know! You're pretty cool, Alyson, you're like the sister I never had!"
"Ah..thanks." The elementalist gave her a sheepish grin.
The Shield Maiden walked over to Lazheros with a sly grin, "And you, Lazheros, you're like the little brother I never had. And I always wanted to do this to you!" Serna seized Lazheros by his head, put him in a headlock and ran her fingers through his hair giggling, "Frazzle Head! Frazzle Head! Find a Baker to bake my bread! Hah! Hah! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Wait...what the?!?" Lazheros held out his hands in protest trying to get out of the headlock that Serna put him into, "Gahh!"
Serna released him and laughed at the Cleric's mussed up hair before she walked over to Irzen.
"Hey, hands off the Bronze Man, Serna. You got Willow, sheesh!" Alyson placed both hands on her hips eyeing the shield maiden warily.
"Bronze Boy, you mean!" Serna laughed at Alyson before she added with her hands raised, "Don't worry Dragon Boy is all yours."
"Hmph!" The elementalist marched over to Lazheros.
The Swordsman eyed The Shield Maiden not knowing what to expect from the young girl. Serna smiled at Irzen and said, "I always wanted to do this with Willow but I never got the chance. So! Here it goes!"
"Here what goes?" Irzen replied suspiciously.
Serna seized Irzen, dipped him and planted a hard kiss upon the Drow's lips. The Swordsman was taken completely by surprise and did his best to try and push the Shield Maiden off of him but it was all to no avail. When she was done, Serna dropped him and turned to the others, "I always wanted to kiss an Elf, and you know what, I like it!"
The Bronze Man, Caliaphy, and Alyson gasped simultaneously.
The Swordsman looked up at Serna is pure disbelief, "Let me guess: I'm going to get cooties aren't I?"
"Eeew! Cooties! Don't need'em or want'em!" Alyson shook her head.
"One can only hope," Serna laughed before she walked up to The Fairy, "Thanks for always being there, Caliaphy, you really are a true friend!"
The kurori brought her fingers together and made a kissy sound, "Oooo! Serna and Irzen kissing in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage--"
Serna laughed as she danced along to the Kurori's song.
The elementalist clamped her hand over Caliaphy's mouth, "Ain't gonna happen. Just stop right there."
"Mmph!"
The Shield Maiden bust out in gales of laughter as Alyson silenced Caliaphy.
"Well everyone our job here is done helping the gnomes." Lazheros brushed himself off and gestured towards the path up and out of the mine.
Caliaphy shrank down to the fairy again flying over to Serna and grabbed her hair, "Giddy up, noble steed! Hiyah!"
The Shield Maiden reached behind herself to the back of her hair, plucked the Fairy free and brought her forwards so she could look eyeball-to-eyeball, "Caliaphy, I am STILL not your noble steed." Serna released her as she added, "But I agree with you, Lazheros, its time for us to go."
Irzen got to his feet and dusted himself off with a shrug, "Yeah, I agree, before you try and kiss me again!"
Serna laughed some more before she asked no one in particular, "Okay, which way is out?"
