"I agree!" The Swordsman admitted.
"Maybe it has something to with Stormhaven? It's been awhile since we've been there." Alyson added.
"But Stormhaven is a barony not a kingdom," Serna spoke up for the first time, "And as much as Baroness Meleranti's father, Baron Modnar of Rebma, was beloved by our people and considered to this day to be one of Stormhaven's legendary leaders--he was no king, just a baron."
"Madeous, Quake, Mermidon, what do you guys think?" Irzen asked them.
"So, we venture down a road less traveled and sees where it takes us. I for one would like to see a different part of the Realm. This world is massive, why not explore elsewhere." The elementalist suggested.
"There is supposed to be a chain of floating islands to the north high in the sky where it is said a king reigns there." Lazheros added.
Quake chimed in, "Up-in-the-sky? Why does everything have to be up in the sky? Look as long as there's solid ground to stand on, I suppose I'll manage."
"You know what this means, don't you?" Irzen smiled at Lazheros with a mischievous grin, "DRAGON RIDE!"
"That sounds neat!" Serna chimed in with a grin.
Lazheros shook his head, "Captain Lion is leaving East Port very soon and the floating islands that I spoke of are on the way back across the Fire Sea just to north a bit. I'm sure he would be able to take us at least part of the way and part ways."
"What's the matter, O Great Bronze Dragon?" Irzen smirked, "You're not up for giving all of us a dragon ride? Why not? All of us can't weigh that much and you'll be in full dragon form. Unless, of course, you're afraid your wings are going to get tired or something?"
Madeous walked up and stood between the Bronze Man and the Swordsman, "Enough of your petty banter, Irzen. Your lack of insight is noted on such matters and not everyone-here-knows what my long time friend is, so drop it!"
Irzen held up his hands and backed off, "As you wish, Madeous, it was just a joke. Nothing more than that."
"I'm sure Captain Lion would like the company on his way back to Asylum. Save your snarky comments for any hostile enemies that we encounter up in the skies." The Bronze Man snapped.
"Someone else who can't take a joke." Irzen noted, "Wow, humorlessness must be catching."
"Uh, I'll just take Serna, Caliaphy and the Lady up to the airship while you three argue, yeah." Quake replied quietly.
"Okay!" Serna walked up to Quake and took her hand, "Lead on, Quake, and don't worry about the floating island. I'm sure it'll be fine once you set foot on solid ground. And besides, we'll all be here to keep you from falling off. Count on it!"
Quake escorted Serna and Caliaphy up to the airship while the others followed behind.
Alyson walked along side the Swordsman on the way to the airship, "Why are you in such a hurry for combat, Irzen? Is it because of Quake's mishap with magic that sent everyone all over the realm and back in time?"
"I'm not in a hurry to have combat, I'm in a hurry to have fun!" The Swordsman corrected The Elementalist, "And since you've decided to join The Humorless Boor Party along with Party Secretary Madeous and Party Chairman Lazheros, maybe I should start hanging out with Quake, Serna and Caliaphy. At the very least those three know how to have fun."
The elementalist crossed her arms, "Wow! I didn't know you were that invested in having fun, Irzen. Is that the real reason why you came to the realm, to have fun and kick butt. Mainly Venger's butt. I did too but where I ended up was in the middle of the enemy trying to bring the Nameless One back to the Realm, and oh yeah, I did a near impossible feat by reaching out to the one big bad guy, who everyone here hates, despises for some reason or another and save Stormhaven because I knew I was out-my-league, and out powered in every way."
Madeous and Lazheros glanced at each other but said nothing while Alyson ranted to the swordsman.
"And since all of that took place prior to my meeting you, what does any of that have to do with the price of tea in China?" Irzen added before he went off to find Quake, Serna and Caliaphy, "And on that note, I shall leave you three to your Humorless Boor Party Conference while I hang out with the cool kids!"
The elementalist continued to stew with fustration to herself.
"Hey, Quake! Wait up!" Irzen raced after the Draconic Elemental.
Quake turned slightly but kept walking up the ramp to the airship. "Huh? I thought you and the lady were having an in-depth conversation. Did you get your answer or was it that bad, you decided to leave them and hang out with us?"
