I was going to buy the CarDaq-M which is allegedly upgradeable to DoIP

I had the same idea and, having spoken to Drewtech in the US, I'm now considering the Cardaq Plus 2 which they say supports DOIP (diagnostics over internet protocol), which covers remote diagnostics, and is a phase-in on 2017 models. A learned friend has pointed out that this doesn't mean that it will get VM approval, without which it would be useless for DOIP which is a fair and relevant point. It still has it's existing VM approved uses for pre DOIP vehicles.

Any thoughts on that device?
