It's not working out that way here.

Because the banks are gradually upping their fees to businesses for cards or electronic transfers, more and more businesses are asking for cash, or giving a 4% "cash discount".

I use a card for fuel at the pumps so I don't have to get off the bike, and for on-line purchases and my electric bills, but 3/4 of my monthly check gets cashed and put in my pocket to buy groceries and anything else local.

When businesses AND the consumer both want to use cash, then that's the way it will happen....
