No experience of the later 12/1300 Caponord, For its day it had very good electronic suspension = better than Ducatis or BMWs of the same era and still hard to beat. IMO Aprilia twins with the Rotax engine are best given a very wide berth. Yes, initially they were rather crude & unrefined but I think the later models had much improved ECUs, fueling maps etc. In some circles the limited edition Mille & Tuono models with race quality components are highly regarded and now quite sought after as fast & grunty track bikes for comparatively little money But I admit I've never owned one so my experience is limited to a few short rides not long term ownership. The smaller 750 v-twin supermotos were spectacular hooligan bikes ruined by stupidly small fuel tanks, and the 850 Mana Automatic was light years ahead of its time. |
