In my humble opinion it is in large part due to the carnage, it is ridiculous that 19 cars start and there are only 8 cars running at the end, wake up x-mod drivers, you don’t see that happening EVERY night in ANY other class, and it does, don’t kid yourselves, every race I went to this year, same old crash fest. I am not sure what the cause is (driving over your head, watching you hood pins, or inexperience???) but I have raced two different classes and we never had that problem, either in Legends or Sprints, sure every class has a bad night, but not every night or even every other. I have considered buying an x-mod but I am not sure I want to spend all week repairing the car so I can go out the next race only to have it torn up again. I want to race in a class where I don’t have as much maintenance as my sprint and race in town and support the local track, but not for the time and money it would cost right now. I know an x-mod driver who has had his car completely apart twice this year for repairs, completely of another drivers doing! Come on people
