Over the years I have chimed in on a wide variety of subjects on here, sometimes even when I should have stayed silent, and I have always strived to take a somewhat neutral approach in my comments. There are always two sides to a story and I keep that in mind, always.
One thing I have gone to great lengths to avoid was to defame the promoter of the track. Every promoter I have met was an A-hole and that is what they need to be to be successful in the business. Go to one of the many promoters schools and they teach that in spades.
If you haven’t already, and you get an opportunity; hike a Modified, slide a Sprint Car and work with the promotion team at a race track – DO NOT pass up the opportunity. And after you have, let’s have a discussion on Oval Racin about what you learned.
And just a reminder for those who suffer short term memory loss such as I do:
A few years past we were willing to pay out of our own pockets to have a local dirt track after the close of HHS.
We got our wish granted for not a dime of personnel investment.
