Trying to get back on the horse Posted by Yvonne on 1/3/2020, 11:20 pm On December 9th, my house had a mainline blockage with a "backup" of sewage and bilge water on the ground floor. The stench was overwhelming. Even worse with the lassitude of the insurance company. Water mitigation teams were coming in and out of the house. They still are. Floors were stripped. Carpeting ripped up. The lower two-feet of walls were cut-out (mold prevention). A total nightmare!! No kitchen, bathroom or utility room for weeks. Now that I have ventilated, I feel better, but there is "jiggling" in my back again. Why? Because I am eating to darn much out of frustration. Anyway, the bathroom is operational now and so is the kitchen. There is still a lot of renovation to do. But, were are making progress. I'll let you know when I am back on my Cambridge routine. I am hoping to be able to start back on Cambridge in conjunction with a low carb diet. I only need to do one thing...that is …..JUST DO ITTTTTT!!!!!!!!! Get back on that horse and ride cowgirl!!! I'll put on my boots and spurs and join you ! Til then Happy New Year!

Okay, MaryL: I don't know what happened to the other Board Members, but I appreciate Pam Turner still having this Support Board for me. It's January 10th and I am still knee-deep in contractors, plumbers and carpenters all over the house. I am trying to stay on sole source, but am most distracted by all of this. There are no excuses. There are no "tomorrows". There is just TODAY!! Thank you for replying to my post. Everyone else, I guess, left us.

It is amazing that you are able to do the SS under these circumstances. I know how stressful having your house tore apart can be. It can be really disruptive and yes very stressful and frustrating.About 20 years ago contractors redid our kitchen and things were wild for about a month. They gutted it down to the studs. There was no insulation being it was an older house. We used one electric fry pan to cook our meals. We did the dishes in the mud room sink, living out of totes and boxes. I was working third shift and had to sleep in a tent in the woods across the road because the contractors were so loud there was no way I could sleep in the house during the day time with all that racket. I am on the brink of retirement- I am returning to work next Friday, for 1 day to train an individual on a gas chromatography unit and after that I will be officially retired. I will miss the work and the people, and the paycheck. I haven't been able to diet and stay with it since my last bout of cellulitus last summer. I really get discouraged and then give up. Now I feel I am really ready. Tomorrow Saturday January 11 I am starting. Wish me luck- I can do "day 1 to day 3 with success. I do not know if I can muster the strength of will to stay with it for 1 week but I know I can make it through 1 day. I will take it one day at a time. Yvonne don't give up! I will continue with Yvonne's thread. Yvonne I am a cowgirl today... on my horse! I don't know how long it will be before I fall off but I am going to structure this weight loss journey for "no failures". My daughter, who has lost more than 50 pounds, says, "Mom don't diet. Diets fail. Make it a lifestyle change. Have a free day once per week" That is what I want to do. But I am giving myself a boost by using the shakes a couple times per day and then have a nice low carb meal. Yvonne, I hope you are doing well today. I am sending positive and loving thoughts to all who are struggling with their weight loss at this time. It's not easy but we can do it.I am especially focused on staying on track today. Dutch Chocolate Original Shake for breakfast, green tea supplement and black coffee. The green tea is supposed to enhance certain chemicals in the brain that facilitate compulsive behavior. I'll check back later.

But, I scrolled way down to the bottom of the site and there was this box for entering a pot. I am not doing very well today, I fear. I'm still in the middle of putting all the Christmas decorations away. What a chore! My new bathroom is almost done. I hope the green tea helps. I just need to finish all of this holiday stuff. Thank you for sharing There will be better days ahead, and I know if anyone can do this it's you, Yvonne. Thank you for letting me know where the post message prompt is. I did OK today. I had 2 Cambridge shakes and a beef and vegetable stir fry. I ate so much less than I have been so I feel proud that I was able to limit myself. Tomorrow is a new day and I hop I can accomplish more.
