Also, given the AA model, I know that renting space from a hospital or even a church would be very cheap as these institutions give low fees to self help groups. Marty seems very plugged in and knowledgable and I think this could really be feasible. Glittergirl must be somewhere to be found -- unless she's been cured in which case we REALLY have to find her!!!!!!!!!! The isolation of this phobia is just horrible and I think flesh and blood connection to other sufferers is essential and that buddying up to help in desensitizing could be really useful.
As for expense for you and a trip to NYC -- I am sure that something could be worked out. The tri-state area is New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. NYC is considered the hub and many people commute to and from these states. Transportation is great and it's considered in a sense the greater New York area, I guess.
Personally, i'd just really love to explore a 12 step approach. I hope you'll explore taht avenue -- read that book. Both addiction and phobia are solutions to anxiety -- a sort of self-regulation that goes terribly wrong and then imprisons a person. I'd love to know what you think re the book. keep up the good work, Baz!!!
