I was wondering, Baz, if you are aware of an IBS hypnotherapy CD that apparently is really successful -- it is a Brit whose information I'll find and post -- my question: Could we as a community approach this very reputable hypnotherapist specializing in GI difficulties (not a quack!) and ask him to do a hypnotherapy program for people who suffer from our problem? As a community of sufferers we should have some clout, as it were, in convincing him that this is a worthy area to explore and he would have people who would be receptive to trying a CD specifically tailored to our fear and physical freezing that prevents us from going to the bathroom. Anyway, I know many people who've found amazing transformation thru hypnosis and it has been medically recognised for its efficacity in the treatment of IBS as well as phobias.
