A subject most will have a personal opinion on. What state of the tide do you prefer to fish: over the high, over the low, a rising or falling tide. Does this vary with a targeted specie?

I have usually favoured a rising tide but then I have been surprised by doing well as the tide falls back. Local (Hawke's Bay) beaches can be unpredictable, so what state of the tide do you have the most confidence in?
