Just got back from a four hour session in Napier. There were some huge kahawai on the move, we landed several and they are in brilliant, fat condition. One very large red cod about 1.5kg, and a few spiny backs.

The local temperature is truly remarkable, 21 degrees yesterday and 19 degrees today. Who would want to put the gear away for winter when we are already enjoying spring-like temperatures? Very few people out surfcasting and I really can't understand why? Conditions were damn near perfect.
