Hell yeah, I trolled around off Waihua mucking around casting lures amongst work ups, there were work ups ever couple of hundred meters. Lots of fish rising too.

Snapper started off well, had a few good catches, now its dead, it does slow in december but usually the fishing is a bit better. The amount of spineys blew me away, me mate wore a spine through the forearm, horrible to watch, made me cringe.

The water is so clean up here, its just stunning. Right now shes glass, wish I had motivation, the hay fever this year is terrible. Know of 5 anglers that have fished whakaki and blacks over the past few days, not one snapper. Although they have been just fishing the car parks, best catches have just been kahawai, mullet and little trevs. Not even a gurnard.

Might have to stick a few livies out and throw some lures this weekend, try for a kingfish off the sands down at the bar.
