With a soft bait on a clipped down rig I measured a cast around the 185 m range .

Longrange casting is just another tool to be used as needed .
Just like blinged baits reading the beach /tides /moon etc etc are all tools to be used .

With the ability to reach out further you give yourself more fishable water .

The fish may be witen the first 50 m of water most of the time but if nothings working in close the person with a big cast can try their luck out further . Without a decent casting ability you will never know whats out there.

Its all about options the ones who can cast further are just giving themselves more fishing options.
