Well Hangler good to see you back on deck but you really didnt need to twist the thread around to suit your beliefs.
Learning to cast distance WILL improve your fishing. Thats a no brainer. It doesnt mean you have to cast "full noise" every time. As you have found out there are times when fish are very close. Try moki fishing in Hawkes Bay if you dont believe that.
The days they are further out you had better be a good wader or learn to cast further.
