I get the occasional funny look when using the overhead. I actually had a couple of guys strike up a conversation about it at Pukehina last friday asking what distances i get with it i just told them around or just over 100m with it, that day i was putting out 2 thirds of the spool by time the sinker hit the water using the off the ground cast.one of the guys was actually using a veritas LR like mine and he didn't realise they were designed to take overheads so he was quite interested as he had been thinking about trying the overhead and they were even asking about what the squall was worth to buy and what reels they should look at. So i just told them about the squall,okuma cortez and daiwa slh20 and 30 reels but recommended the first two due to having the magnetic braking systems.
