Tiralejo 13ft 3pce 10-20kg, is the new SHIMANO rod. Ive been playing with it on an off for the last 2months. Like Mark at Team Breakaway said, you can have the 800 dolla rod but unless your casting technique is up to scratch you may as well buy a 200 dolla rod. Its beautifully made and features an adjustable reel seat for those who prefer to mount there reels low on the rod. This is also comlimented by a removeable butt plug which you can add a counter balance weight if using as a normal high mount reel position, or remove to use reel in low mount position. The guides are all silicon carbide for extreme hard wearing(good for those space rope users). The rod is 3 modulis up from Shimanos t curve range. When loaded correctly ive managed some good distances, the blank is a little softer than what im using at the mo, so it feels quite foreign, but im sure with more use id get better distance. Jock from the fielding club had a throw with it and hurled a lead on his first cast out past 170mtrs. Im also trialing the new Shimano Ultegra fixed spool reel, which features the new Baitrunner drag system, in its drag knob(A seperate drag adjuster centred inside the knob itself). Nice smooth retrieve, big deep spool, but the bairunner fans, i suggest you stick with the BIG BTRs or Thunnus reels cause i cant get my head around this bait runner drag adjust system. Tho in saying that having a drag knob that you dont need to screw the sh!t out of too get any tension adjustment, with having turn a few clicks in either direction to tighten or ease is a welcome feature and loonnnggg overdue!. Go into your local and check em out for yourself, ask for a chance to demo, make your own eveluations.
