Not really Nick. If you recall the tiphead pic I put on here some time ago. Most times you will see a rod or two out there. Easy to cast out into deep water. Well behind the breakers. And if ya want you can sit in your car.

Only a few fish the beaches, and I mean sweet buggar all. There is just so much accesible coastline and possies down here it unblievable. Rock or beach take your pic. Most times you are the only rod in sight.

When the snapper arrive there is always a bit of a flurry. Once saw eight rods on the tiphead after word got around the snaps were about. But they usually arrive late in summer and not for long.

Best to target other species, like gunard, Ky and rig. (lemons) Always called rig down here. And if ya pick up a snapper then good on ya. Did get a few blue sharks in the rig net on a daytime set, so they are also about. Cuda at times and who knows what else. Would be nice to snag a turbot as there are plenty out there. Just not like the BOP for snapper.

Oh yeh, and red cod and spiky dogs.

    Cheers Trev
