I accept that Team B's system works well, because I've seen it. It's likely that a 'locked keeper' works similar to a snell knot. And Team B never uses blunt, rusty old hooks like some people I know.
Warwick, there are two ways to snell a hook. The easy way leads to a loose knot. I'll show you a better way sometime soon.
The snell knot has other useful features. You can use it as an anchor point for occy baits - you bind the elastic into the coils of the knot. The snell also prevents some baits (like squid) from shooting off the hook and up the trace - that can happen if you use bait clips.
