Nice post hardy, I like many others have seen numbers of fish decline. The faithful kahawai was the savior of many fruitless fishing days...but not anymore. So many factors could attribute to this..global warming, overfishing, even sea currents shifting. But often when your fishing you can see trawlers, long liners etc in the morning in plain sight. The recreational fisherman has the "choice" to keep or throw away. Long liners and trawlers do not. Fish that are caught are almost certainly dead or doomed to death whether legal or not. Its this aspect of commercial fishing that worrys me. How can it be governed?
