Sorry about the grammar in my first report I wrote it in a hurry during my smoko break this morning.

Ok part 2 of our plan was to head to the sand later in the afternoon for low tide around 8.10pm.

I forgot to mention that Chris picked up a nice trev earlier which I didn't get a photo of, woops.

A few of our club stopped in to see how we were doing around 3.30pm as the westerly started gusting, it was mentioned that it wouldn't be to flash out on the sand with wind the way it was and we were getting hammered by sharks so they decided to move on and head east to Omaio. Soon after the wind died off and turned south as forecast.

Great we packed up headed back down the beach to where another group of ours was fishing they saw us coming and packed as well, just in time as the southerly brought in a heavy down pour. Karla and Dave had bagged a few snapps.

A convoy of vehicles headed west to the sand and into the sunshine without breath of wind. The other vehicles headed to Snells and we turned off early at Kellys. On our way in one of the Opotiki members was on his way out complaining about crabs We drove in and Chris picked out the small but defined point were we could get out and over the second bar which proved to be the key.

It wasn't long before we started getting into the action with Chris landing 7 snapper for the evening. Yes the man was fire.

I think this was the second snapper Chris caught on Sunday morning

We fished to about 11pm and our body's could handle no more and the fishing had gone quiet. Chris was on 7 burgers for the night with a number of ky thrown in and I was on 4 burgers and number of ky as well.

More to come for the next morning...
