    Well there where some nice topes caught to around 25kg from memory.Was a bit disapointed in seing them in that state really.these fish would have been dumped back on the beach and their death was wasted.I don't think these beutiful creatures desereved that.If you are not going to eat something then it needs to be released back to the water alive.I know opotiki club has a policy of measuring the shark and if its over 1mtr then you can release it and you get basic points for it.Good system really.At the rotorua club we have to trunk all sharks if we want points.this way the fish can still be eatin.Food for thought.
    On another not what a great interclub it was.Opotiki and gisbourne club members are fantastic people and great fun to be around.Denise and I had a great time indeed, infact we partied hard untill the early hours of the morning and we managed to catch some fish as well.a lot of bourbon and gin went down the hatch
