Hey, wait. I bought an off-peak ticket to Glasgow so that means I can travel at any time during the off-peak hours. That's good news. The bad news is that my ticket on the way back is an advance ticket specifically for 5.30.
The difference in price between an off-peak and an advance is £6. That's ridiculous. $6 on a $60 ticket. Had I known this, I would have got off-peak for the way back too. Well, live and learn.
