They're mostly found in the bathroom but the first one landed on my hand when I was in the living room and that resulted in a mild freak out. Fortunately, I managed to find and kill it.
Then today I go to the kitchen and I run into a spiderweb. Then I open a cabinet to get the detergent and there's a spiderweb in there too. So I'm thinking there's a fair few of these spiders around.
I suspect that it's because I'm on the ground floor plus I'm near the river. And obviously, the insects come out in the summer. But still. I don't like it.
I haven't seen anything major, though. So that's good. And I can't imagine that Glasgow is known for insect infestations. It doesn't seem to get terribly warm here. Even by London standards...I mean...here we are in the middle of June and there were only perhaps two warm days so far. People are still wearing their coats.
That's what makes me wary of moving to Asia. Saw a video recently of a guy in Thailand showing off his flat. It was tiny but in a nice building and it was something like £100/month. But I wonder about the insect situation in Thailand. Probably high. And cockroaches and shit.
I only lived in one place with cockroaches. That was a shared place with some Sri Lankan guys. It was absolutely infested. You'd rarely see them but they were everywhere. I once left an unopened bag of crisps in a low cabinet and the next day, it was full of holes. Maybe 100 huge holes in this bag. They mostly come out at night, I bet. Place had mice too. So yeah, that was really bad.
So whatever. This place is otherwise nice. And everywhere is going to have the ocassional insect.
