Saw a slug on the kitchen floor a few days ago. I was getting a cup of water at 11.00 pm. Holy crap. Sprayed it with Raid and left it. Thought it would be dead in the morning and I could dispose of it but no. It was gone.
Then a couple of day ago, again I'm going to get water at about 11.00 and a different slug. Sprayed it and left. Then about 20 minutes later I thought, "I better see where this thing goes" but it was already gone.
I can't really see where they can go to. There's a few cracks between the cupboard skirting or whatever it's called. That board below the cabinets. So maybe that's it.
I've never opened the windows so they're not coming in through there. That tells you how much colder Glasgow must be than London. I regularly opened the windows while in London during the summer months when it got hot. I'd really try not to because bugs would come in but it would get unbearable. Here, I never even considered opening the windows.
So yeah, they were definitely different slugs. The first one was fag and didn't have antenae and the second one was perhaps your classic slug, fairly slim and had antenae.
I thought about getting slug pellets but I was looking at Google Maps and couldn't find a place nearby that I thought might have it. And I didn't want to order online.
So I called the landlord (who's a company).
Me: Hi. I'm a tenant at (location) and I think there's a slight problem with slugs?
Receptionist: With what?
Me: Slugs.
Receptionist: Slugs?
Me: Yeah, slugs. I thought about just getting slug pellets but then I thought maybe I should call.
Receptionist: Has this just happened recently?
Me: Yeah. I've seen two in the past three days.
Receptionist: Okay. Just leave it to me.
I'm thinking maybe they're under the dishwasher. Because I imagine that it gets wet and humid under there. Same with the washing machine. So...hopefully something gets done. If not, my lease is expiring in a week.
Made some meatloaf today. First time in probably over a year. Had to be tomato-free. I went with this recipe:
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/234185/meatloaf-for-tomato-haters/
It got six reviews. All raving.
I added a couple of jalepeno peppers that I had but it was still pretty bland. Pretty really bland. Otherwise, I followed the repice exactly. Except I used one pound of beef instead of two. But I didn't reduce any of the other ingredients. So...should have been more flavourful. Twice as much salt and pepper.
I mean...it was fine but...lacking in ketchup. It used gravy instead. I used this Bistro shit for the first time. It was easy and satisfying to make.
The recipe I used to use had like a cup of ketchup and I think a can of tomatoes. It was more tomatoes than meat. It was good, though.
This...eh...it was eay to make, at least. You just put everything into a bowl, mix, then put it into the pan, and cook for an hour. And I have a microwave now so leftovers are easy. I used to have to reheat it using the George Foreman Grill which...it has its benefits but I'll just use the microwave now.
Wow, it's only 2.40 and I've already accomplished all of today's goals. No work today due to some mix up. I'm going to take a nap then.
