So I said, "Okay, enough with these agents. I'm only going to deal with private landlords on Gumtree. Yes, there's only a few ads but I don't care. I'll take anything."
So I contacted a guy for some shitty flat for £500/month. Viewing tomorrow.
Today I get a text. "I gave the flat to somebody else. We were inundated with viewers. Good luck with your search."
Why are you telling me that you're inundated with viewers? How does that help me?
It's like these asshole job interviewers who show you a stack of CV's that they received. Well, good for you. People are desperate for work. How does that assist? Am I supposed to feel sorry for you to have to go through those CV's? What's the point of telling me this?
So I've had it. I've been looking for months. I will take anything at this point. Monday, I'm going to respond to every single flat that gets posted over the weekend. Private, agencies, I don't care. I just need something. I can find something better after six months.
I just need to move so that I have an excuse to contact these scumbag solicitors again. I'm only getting last minute jobs and not many of them. I worked twice this week because it was a complete last minute thing and they couldn't find anyone else.
It's getting to the point where I'm thinking of just moving back to the US. Although, of course that would be exponentially difficult to do.
